Keeping In Touch With A Blog

A lot of people don’t realize that a blog can bring heaps of traffic and search engines simple love them. Of course, the only one we’re going to target is Google of course since it has the majority of the traffic but Google LOVES blogs. Why does Google love Blogs? First of all, they’re dynamic content which mean content is constantly coming in, even if it’s only once a week or four times a day, this provides value to the users and you’ll be sure to get indexed fast with thousands of spiders being notified that you post new content every day.

Second, most blog themes automatically incorporate a post title as a H1 tag which is ESSENTIAL for SEO. You want a H1 tag with your main keyword and for blog posts, you want to make sure you put in a keyword in your title so that Google will pick that up and you might end up ranking for it depending on other factors of course. We’re not going to go fully into SEO or how you can improve your SEO rankings here but we’re going to discuss how to keep in touch with your readers with a blog.

Apart from just selling a product or someone else’s product, you should have a blog attached to your website. It’ll increase your authority, your backlink juice, your rankings and your traffic all in one. Most of the time, depending on the host you go with, they have a control panel which will give you a free blog such as Wordpress or your personal preferred platform. Personally, I prefer Wordpress because of the exhausting list of powerful features that it offers.

So what kind of things should you be posting on your blog?

Informative –Don’t post sales crap or try to push products on your blog. That’s what your follow up emails and your main sales copy is for, your blog should be telling people informative information that they actually want to read. However, you can place ads next to your blog or sell advertising space on it, this is very profitable as a business model and high traffic websites can make $1,000 a day by selling 10 different ads to 10 different people for $100, all you have to do is setup an ad rotation manager.

News – If you’re operating a blog in a certain niche or field, try to post about news related topics in that particular niche or field. People obviously have a passion for that particular niche so they’re going to want to see news stories and new things that are new in the market over that field.

So when you’re keeping up a blog, there’s nothing wrong with “reviewing” so to speak a product or a service but people don’t come to blogs to get annoyed, it should be viewed as a source for information or entertainment, when you’re trying to get people to buy crap off of a blog, they’ll more than likely just ignore your site altogether. Everyone knows that people place ads on blogs as a form of revenue and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Also, you should have your opt in there as well so people who aren’t apart of your subscriber list can opt in from your blog. If you don’t have an RSS or feed button on your blog that’s easily viewable for people to subscribe to your blog, you need to add it. You have to do whatever you can to people coming back to your blog over and over again.

Remember, a blog is NOT a sales page, it’s an informational page or it’s for entertainment.

This is the truth. The main secret that took me forever to figure out and that most people who are making the big bucks try to keep secret is this: Those who are making money online are the ones that are showing HOW TO make money online to people. Now take a minute think about it....let it sink in and laugh for about half an hour like I did. Now your on the right path. Go make some money!

    Offering Freelancing Services

Is the idea of creating a product or selling someone else’s product too scary and not something you’re ready to pursue? If that’s the case, then there’s the world of Freelancing available to you.
What is freelancing? You basically provide your services to someone and you act as an independent contractor that doesn’t work with a company but you work on your own. You have handle all of the tax work and stuff on your own, yeah I know, super fun right?

How do you get started? First, you have to find a skill or something that you’re good at. You need to find something you excel at or something you can do that you’re confident enough to sell. Remember, when you sell a service, even if it’s freelancing you’re still selling yourself as a product and your personal reputation is on the line. Most of the clients you meet don’t have much influence over the internet but all it takes is one popular blogger or forum member to purchase your services, have a negative experience and then they’ll leave a very nasty review for all to see or trash your name everywhere.

While this is very rare, this is still something you have to consider when you’re selling your services as a freelance writer.

So what can you do to freelance?

SEO – You can sell SEO services such as manual backlink building. You can submit people’s blog posts or websites to social bookmarking websites, you can write articles for them and submit them to article directories, etc. You can also sell site auditing services where you’ll audit their on page SEO and correct it as necessary.
Article Writing – While this isn’t fun and is one of the most tedious things on the planet, you need articles to help build backlink juice which is a service you can provide. We’re going to go into this in more detail further down this article. When you’re setting up yourself as an article writer, you need to make sure your grammar is excellent and that you can deliver fast quality work.

Continuing on from what I was discussing earlier on article writing, another issue that comes to mind is pricing. Your pricing will set the kind of client you work with. When you work with a client who can’t afford to pay you over $5.00 per 100 words or $15 per typical article, you generally get someone who’s cheap and is looking for what professional writers call a “peanut” writer. It’s best to avoid this unless you’re building up a portfolio.

So while Freelancing services are a great way to get started and a perfect option for newbs, in my opinion it isn’t the best business model because you don’t build any residual income and the work is often a one time deal. You’ll also find a lot of clients who have work every once in a while but can never offer consistent work so you might find yourself searching for clients half the time and the other half will be writing. It can be tedious but it can be rewarding as well.

One thing that rings true is focusing on one thing and making that work (of course you need to reflect on your results and if its a good path to continue on or to try another "method" or strategy.

    Distinguishable Traits Of Successful Marketers

So what are some of the most distinguishable traits of successful internet marketers and successful people in general?

First and foremost, they have very “can do” attitude and they aren’t the kind of people who give up when they encounter a problem. They don’t simply say, “Well, this seems like a lot of work, so I don’t know if I want to do this.”

Can Do – These people like to say that they CAN do something. They know that the road ahead of them is going to be a challenging one but they don’t care, they strive on challenges and they make sure that any challenge strengthens their ability to succeed.

Not Fearing Failure Failure is inevitable. It’s a known fact that I and other full time internet marketers have had embarrassing failures. Hell, even one of the most successful internet marketers of all time was sued by the FTC for selling a “Instant” rich system that wasn’t backed by real claims and then the FTC took all his money. You have to realize that 99% of the time, ventures and opportunities will not go as planned.
You have to look at failure dead in the face and embrace it.

I’ve also noticed a common trend between people who are poor wishing to become rich and people who are rich and started out poor.

One Day – A lot of people say “one day, I will be making money from the internet” and guess what? Those are the people currently making money, selling products and keeping you on their e-mail list.

I Hope – Then you have the people who hope to be one day selling products and making money from the internet. Those people usually don’t ever end up making money online because they’re relying on hope alone to make money for them. Hope is not a plan and will not guide you to success. Can it motivate you? Yes, but ultimately, hope will not get you from Point A to Point B, it’ll only show you where point B is on a map.
