Excuclusive lessons on how to make money from scratch step by step PART 5

This is part 5 of 8 parts on How to make money online from scratch.

Creating Your Website And Sales Letter

That’s really as simple as I can make it for creating a product, but now we’re going to discuss how to create a website and sales letter that achieves results. After all, we’re all after maximum results are we not? We’re not out to just make a couple of sales or to pay off one bill but we’re looking to make bank and achieve the most results possible.

    Your Website

Did you know that different colors of a website can affect a person differently? It’s actually true, there have been several psychological studies done that predict colors can actually have a significant impact on a person’s mood, personality and emotions? Here’s a simplified explanation of some of the different colors and the impact they have on people.

Red: This means ALERT! It puts people in a heightened sense of alert and should be used sparingly on the website in which you’re selling something. People are more perceptive to scams and danger when there’s a lot of red present on a website.

Yellow: This is kind of an attention grabber. People see yellow and then they have to see what’s read there. This is why you see so many words highlighted with yellow on sales pages and random text with yellow highlighting on those mile long sales pages trying to sell you things.

Green: This makes people want to spend money. Don’t ask me why but it’s true. This is why Christmas is most commonly associated with Green and why people become so generous on the holidays. People LOVE spending money during the holidays because green is the main focus and color of the holidays. People are far more likely to shell out their cash and wallets when this color is present.

Blue: People are put at easy and in a relaxed state when there’s a lot of blue present. You want people to feel at easy and comfortable knowing which will make them easier to sell to.

The design of your website has to be more advanced now that we’re in a very advanced modern age. It’s 2012, websites that are built with Geocities or Tables aren’t acceptable anymore. You need to have websites that are “interactive” and dynamic now to please the majority of the people today. If you don’t know how to make a website interactive, you don’t know JavaScript, Ajax or any of the languages that make websites do cool things, there’s plenty of people for hire that do.

When designing your website, you want to make sure that the design is easy to navigate as well. A well designed website shouldn’t be cluttered with a ridiculous amount of ads, images and should offer information that’s actually valuable to the visitor. Google looks at information displayed on a page, how it’s displayed and if it’s relevant to the visitor’s interests.

    Your Sales Letter

Now, understanding good web design and why a well-designed website sells will only get you half way there. There are plenty of ugly websites that sold well more than they should have and this was due to a well written sales letter.

If you hire a copywriter yourself, here are some things you should take note of:
The more a copywriter charges, the better the quality you’ll get. This isn’t to say that there are some scumbag copywriters out there charging $15 per 100 words.

The Quality You Get Depends On Your Pricing

For the most part, that statement couldn’t be truer. If you pay a writer who only charges $1 per 100 words, then the chances are you’re going to get a much jumbled mess of quality that makes absolutely no sense. There are great non-native English writers out there who can write better than some English speakers and vice versa. When you pay a cheap writer, you’re going to get cheap quality and that’s the bottom line.

A portfolio of a writer will give you a great idea of how good a writer is but remember, they could have copied that work from anywhere on the internet, so you can’t always go by a sales letter.

If you’re writing the sales letter yourself, there are a few things you need to remember. You’re trying to create a need and a reason for your market and audience to purchase your product or whatever it is you’re selling on your website.

Try to connect with the reader on an emotional level. Try to relate to their past experiences and history and try to get in touch with what they have been through. Talk about having a hard past life that you had to grow up on some mean streets but you overcame it all and achieved success. People will think their situation is the exact same and try to achieve the same results which will lead to a far greater chance of a potential customer becoming a paid customer.

Your sales letter will be the ultimate hurdle. Your sales letter will ultimately determine whether or not you get a sale and a long term customer out of that reader. What problems would your target audience probably face if they were reading your sales letter? What kind of problems does your target audience have and why do they NEED your product? This isn’t a product that they might benefit from, it’s a product that they’re going to NEED!
This is why you need try to relate with them on a deep level and include all of this in your sales letter.

Images and shiny things still sell. People love seeing images, testimonials and proof that this product is going to work for them. Words alone will sell them, but the images, testimonials and pictures will hype them up into your product. Let the words and writing do the selling for you, but try to include relevant images (don’t steal them from another site) to hype them up into clicking buy quicker. When selling your product, remember, you’re selling yourself as well.

There are some very good points mentioned in this article.

If you’re writing the sales letter yourself, there are a few things you need to remember. You’re trying to create a need and a reason for your market and audience to purchase your product or whatever it is you’re selling on your website.
I completely agree with the above quote. When you are trying to sell, you have to ensure your product will offer something productive to the customers.

You need to have a good website, when you are trying to sell products online. If your website goes down for technical reasons, it can hurt your business.
