Excuclusive course on How To Create Your Own Product

In this course you'll learn "how to establish yourself as a product/brand marketer and how to become one of the self-acclaimed "Gurus"".

    About the course:
Making money online isn’t just about selling other people’s products. In this course, we’ll discuss how you can create your own product from scratch and become a brand product marketer. It takes someone real special to become one of the self-acclaimed gurus and in this course, we’ll show you exactly how to do it.

    Part 1/10
The Proper Mindset To Be A Product Marketer

The world of online marketing and selling products is exciting, rewarding, fun and it’s addicting. However, one can’t simply just go into product marketing without obtaining the proper mindset to make it in this business. So I’d like to start this course off by giving a simple introduction into the mindset of a product marketer and what it’s going to take (mentally) for you to successfully make it in this business.

First, before even beginning to think about how rich you’re going to get, how many sales you’re going to make or what you’re going to do, I want you to clear your mind and try to put the following thoughts into your mind.
I am not perfect and I am going to fail. No one is perfect and 99% of your total online ventures will either be a flop or they will fail. This is one of the main reasons people never choose to pursue the world of internet marketing or they never release a product even after it’s made. They’re simple afraid of the possibility of failing. Do you know how many people would never be in the positions they are in today if they never took a chance and were too afraid to fail? You can’t be afraid of failure because 99% of your ventures will fail but those 1% that work out will be well worth it in the end.

The road ahead of me is a very long and hard. For those of you who heard that internet marketing is a breeze and relatively easy were told wrong. I know how infomercials love to boast about how easy making money online is and all you have to do is click your way to riches all day but that’s simply not the case. It will suck sometimes, get over it. As they say in the Navy Seals, “The only easy day was yesterday.” You will spend hours or even months doing things that produce no income at all and you will learn some hard learned lessons in your quest to make money online. So, get the thought of having an easy ride out of your head right now, it’s going to be tough.

I can’t fail until I give up. A lot of people give up far too early because they think they “failed”. What is the meaning of failure and when do you fail? Just because a business venture or an online opportunity doesn’t work out in your favor doesn’t mean you “failed”. It simply means you need to re-visit what went wrong and go back and change whatever caused that venture not to work out. A lot of people don’t realize that you can’t truly fail until you simple give up and call it quits. Once you give up, that’s the true meaning and definition of failure.
Keep these key points in mind and prepare your mind for a long and exhausting battle.

Note: This is a 10 part course on becoming a product marketer. This will not ensure you success; it will only give you key points and serve as a guide to help get you there. There are a lot of things that should be taken into account to measure your success and most of it will depend on you. While some things are left out of here, remember this serves as a basic guide to get you started down your path of a product marketer.

Two Essential Mindset Commandments To Follow

I’d like to touch up a little bit more on obtaining the proper mindset to make sure that your business will succeed and to make sure that you succeed. What a lot of people don’t realize is that when you become a product marketer, your products are NOT the business, YOU are the business.

    YOU ARE THE BUSINESS

When you’re selling products, you’re actually selling yourself. Even if you use a fake pen-pal style name, you’re releasing them with your reputation on the line. If you release garbage products for cheap just to turn a profit, people are going to notice very quickly and your reputation will be destroyed rather quickly. Take a look at the infamous Kevin Trudaeu for example. He sells a lot of phony “get well” style products that promise to cure diseases that have no known cure.
He has been sued by the FTC, jailed, sued by various independent parties and you can find negative reviews all over the internet. That’s not how you want to end up is it?
So, we’re going to discuss obtaining the proper mindset by following two very simple commandments that I took from popular marketer Frank Kern.

Thou Shalt Not Be A Pussy

What does this mean? This means that you will not be afraid of failure and you will not be afraid to reach out for what you want and just DO IT! Don’t let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game, what has unfortunately kept so many people from making money over the years.

    Thou Shalt Not F*** Around

What does this mean? This means that you’re not going to sit there for countless hours on forums looking for some simple magical solution to make you money and you’re not going to rely on other people to hold your hand and make you money for you. This means you will not spend any time messing around excluding your off time. It’s important to set off time for yourself so you don’t get too burnt out on what you’re doing.

Do you need some motivation? Look at the Gurus and look at their acclaimed “earnings” or “proof of income” on their sales pages. Once you reach the status of a “Guru”, you can rest assured that those are REAL earnings because if they weren’t the FTC would shut them down and take their money.

That’s another thing as well, if you decide to go the route of selling internet marketing or make money online products, you will NOT falsify your earnings or try to lie to get more sales. This only spells trouble for you in the end, if someone reports you to an agency or the FTC, they’ll take everything you’ve earned from your online venture, label you a fraud and they might even ban you from doing online business or selling that product in the state. It’s happened to quite a few marketers in the past.

    Part 3/10
    Brainstorming Your Product

Now that we’ve covered the essentials of obtaining the proper mindset, you’ve cleared your mind and you’re ready to succeed, we’re going to brainstorm your product and exactly what you want to sell to people.

    You Are No Expert

Nor do you have to be. You don’t have to be an authority and an expert on a subject to sell something to people, you simply just need to tell people you are, and they’ll believe you. It’s not illegal to tell people you’re an expert on something, but it IS however illegal to tell people you are a Doctor, Green Beret, Lawyer, when in fact you are not. So get that idea of “well, I don’t know what I could talk about or what I could sell people” out of your head right now.

You don’t need to be an expert or a Guru on a subject to sell something to people. Besides, most of the Gurus today had absolutely no idea what they were talking about when they started and they were “self-acclaimed” gurus back then, no one would believe where they actually came from. Some Gurus come from living in Garages, their mother’s basements, their friend’s couch, etc.

    Brainstorming

To start the brainstorming process, think of something you’re knowledgeable (or if you’re not knowledgeable on anything) something you’re passionate about. What’s something you could just talk about for hours on end or talk about on end? Something that you’re so passionate about, it makes your friend’s heads spin when the idea of talking about it comes up because they’re so tired of discussing it with you.

Do you have anything in mind? Perhaps you can talk create a product on making money online, since you’re wanting to make money online, getting out of debt, how to improve your garden, how to improve your golf swing, etc.
There’s thousands of different niches out there and there’s unlimited possibilities with what you can do, so try to think of something you truly want to do and something you’re truly going to be passionate about or else you’re just going to end up hating yourself for what you’re doing and the result will be sloppy work.

The brainstorming is the most vital and essential part of being a product marketer, especially for your first product. Take all that crap about failure and the chance you might not succeed and throw it out the window, you could care less! Right now, your main focus is trying to create a product that will help other people and is something you can talk about for hours and hours without blinking.

Once you have something you’re truly passionate about and something you truly want to do, it’s time to begin the process of creating the product and then we’ll start marketing your product. Hopefully soon, you’ll be on your way to becoming a self-acclaimed Guru or on news stations promoting your product. You never know where you’ll end up or what will come of this idea.

    Creating Your Product

Alright, so what have we gone over so far?

    The Proper Mindset

We’ve gone over how to obtain the proper mindset and what kind of mindset you’re going to need to succeed in this business. We discussed the possibility of failing and that a lot of your ideas and ventures WILL fail. There’s no reason to stay out of the game just because of the possibility of failing, you should embrace it instead and take it as a challenge.

    The Two Commandments

You are not going to screw around or waste time, you instead are going to go for what you want and you’re going to simply DO IT! The most successful marketers don’t sit there online browsing forums, posting in forums and telling other people how much money they make online. Regardless of what the ever so popular forums would have you believe. You need to stay as far away as possible from these forum; they're sometimes the most misguided and misinformed bunch of fools on the internet.

When it comes to creating your product, we’re going to follow a few different steps to ensure that your product is setup for maximum results and success.

    • You have your idea and you know what you’re going to sell (at least you have an idea of the topic)

    • You need to research your market and find out what kind of problems people in your specific market are having. Example: If you’re selling a make money online guide, the obvious problem is that they’re broke and they don’t know how to make money online.

    • You need to create your product with the idea that most of the people who buy it won’t even read it all the way through.

It’s sad but it’s true, the majority of people who purchase products (for cheap anyways) won’t read the book or listen to all of the videos all the way through or give the program an honest chance. People are always looking for that easy button that simply doesn’t exist, but if you find one, please feel free to let us know at http://www.internetmarkting.com/

So, once you have identified a specific problem that people have in a specific niche, how do you plan on fixing or solving this problem? People don’t want you to talk about their problem for 100 pages; they’re going to want a solution and some value for their money. That’s what you have to do; you have to provide those people with a solution to whatever problem caused them to purchase your product.

Once you have fixed that problem, there’s another nifty trick you can do called “upselling”. This is when you put “optional” purchases to help them make their lives easier known as affiliate sells. Put products that make their life easier or speed up the process in there with your affiliate link and recommend it to them but don’t tell them they HAVE to purchase it.

    Part 5/10
Creating The Website And Sales Copy

This will give you a basic idea of how to create your website and sales copy to ensure success. This is going to be a two part section and while we can’t go into 100% detail on every tiny thing you need to do make sure you succeed, we’ll give you a basic idea to help you out.

    The Website

First thing is first, we need to make sure that your website is SEO optimized.

    • Your title tag and meta tags should all have relevant information in them. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can look up on Google what Meta tags and the Title tag for a website is.

    • Make sure your Title tag is something eye-catching and relevant to your website. If you’re selling a product on making money online, don’t just put “make money online”, make it something interesting. Something such as “If you can’t make money online with my simple and easy to follow system, you suck.” It’s a little insulting, but some of the best converting websites are a little edgy and insulting. Take the Rich Jerk for example, he was an absolute jerk and made you feel terrible but by the end of his website, you wanted to hand over your money to him.

    • You can go two routes here, you can make a super long website with tons of images or you can make what’s known as a “Sales Squeeze Page” and you can create a short website which usually just consists of a video and an opt-in. If you don’t know what an opt in is, don’t worry, we’ll touch up on that later.

    Sales Copy

Your sales letter will be displayed proudly on your website and will hopefully convert random visitors into long term customers. We’ll touch up more on that later but for now, we need to make sure that your sales copy reads well and makes people want to buy your product.

    • Connecting with the person will make them feel an emotional attachment to you and your product. For instance, perhaps you can try to relate with them on a problem they might have which would make them want to buy your product.

    • Your sales letter shouldn’t discuss how much money YOU have made, it should tell people how much THEY can make.

YOU: Signifies that you’re rich or that you’re an authority expert on whatever it is you’re selling.

    THEY
: If you promote a product to them or tell them how much they can make, this signifies that not only are you an expert on a certain niche, but you can teach others how to be an expert as well.

Testimonials – DO NOT FALSIFY THESE. You can hire cheap people to honestly review your product and when you give people free stuff, they usually give you positive reviews. Be sure to include these in your website. There’s a lot more we can touch up on, but this is just to give you the basics.

    Part 6/10
    Getting The Attention Of Affiliates

So let’s say you’ve got this KILLER website, this amazing sales copy that’s sure to keep customers shelling out their money to you but what do you do now? The problem with making money online often isn’t setting up a website or coming up with good ideas.

The Good Idea Fairy – This is a person who always has a good idea and wants to bank off of it. I can walk down the street with a loud horn and yell for hours looking for good idea fairies and by the end of the day, people would give me a book worth of ideas that they think will make them millionaires.

You need affiliates, especially if you’re brand new to the market and you have no pre-existing list or affiliates to help you launch your product. Most newbies think that it’s impossible to gain the attention of affiliates since their website is brand new or they haven’t been established in the community of their niche for very long but you’ll find that it’s actually very easy to obtain affiliates and get people to help you out.

Searching Google – In my experience, this is the easiest way to find affiliates and this is how you do it.

Step 1) Search Google for a keyword related to your niche, I’m going to use “How to make money online” as an example.

Step 2) Take note of the top results on the first few pages and even some of the paid ads.

Step 3) Open all of those results up in new windows.

Step 4) Now, come up with a catchy and interesting proposition for them. They’re going to want to make money after all, they’re not going to want to promote your product just because you’re a nice or interesting person. Make sure you tell them what your product is about, why you’re selling it, who you’re selling it too and there’s also some other information you can include in there as well if you have it available such as: Your conversion ratio, your Alexa traffic ranking or any freebie bonuses you provide to customers.

Step 5) Offer them 50% or even higher for their e-mail blast. If you have an affiliate program set up, your affiliates who agree will setup the rest. This can be powerful and one affiliate with a nicely built up list can make your bank. Don’t be discouraged by the ones who say no, there’s billions of websites and more than likely millions on your individual and specific niche.

Don’t expect everyone to say yes. The people on top of the search results more than likely have the largest email lists to email out to but they also receive a lot of emails and questions just like yours. You have to be interesting and offer them something not many people are willing to offer them. Don’t be afraid to sacrifice a thing or two for your first launch.

    Part 7/10
    It’s Launch Day

So here it is, your big day. Remember to remain calm, once its launch day you’ve already got everything set up (for the most part) and you’ve got affiliates who are just waiting to blast out your link and hopefully make the bank.

Just because it’s time for the day of the launch and that your product is going to be released to who knows how many people doesn’t mean it’s time to just slack off. So many people think that by setting up a website and slapping up a BUY IT NOW button will make them money but they usually end up going bankrupt or giving up on the idea completely a couple months down the road.

When I would personally coach people to help them earn money, this is the process they told me they would follow:

    • They would setup a website about some random product with absolutely no brainstorming or research involved. They heard it was a popular niche from other people or by browsing the popular product host Clickbank.

    • They would slap on a Buy It Now button and let it sit, hoping that Google would just send them a lot of people who want to spend their money.

The problem is, no one WANTS to spend their money, you have to make them spend their money. That’s another important reminder to keep in mind when you’re launching and it’s time to launch.

Revisions – It’s time to go back through your sales copy and your website before the buy it now button goes live and make revisions to things you think should be changed. Of course, we’re going to assume here that you proofread and made revisions initially but much like Santa, we’re going to check our list and our work twice.

Your Sales Copy – Make sure that your sales copy sounds as great as possible, look for any spelling errors, look for areas you feel that could use improvement and make sure you connected with your potential customer on a personal level.

Your Website – You want to make sure your website looks as appealing as possible. Here’s a little spoiler alert, if you use GREEN on your website, people want to buy things from you even more. There’s some psychology behind colors and if utilized correctly on your website, people will be more likely to buy things from you.

So remember, it might be the day of the launch but it’s never too late until people start buying your product to go back and make revisions.

Building An E-mail List And Following Up

There’s just ONE THING you need to make sure you’re doing before or during the launch. There’s one thing that’s very essential to becoming a product marketer. I like to use this comparison a lot because it fits so well.

If you go to a comedy club, you hear a comedian who told one funny joke the whole time, you’re going to remember that one joke but you’re more than likely never going to go see them again or even remember their name. Well, if they were funny the entire time, you might not remember all of the jokes but you’ll remember their name and you’ll more than likely be back to see them again.

This is exactly why you need to build an e-mail list and why you need to follow up with them. If you don’t provide them with a chance to opt in you’ve lost a future customer to sell things to. We just sold them a product though, why would we try to do that again? Let me let you in on a little secret. I’m going to use the Making Money Online niche as just an example but people who continuously buy products are never going to be those people who make money online, they’re always going to be shopping around for some magical cure that doesn’t exist to their debt and money problems.

The only way those people are ever going to make money is if they win the lottery which they’ll end up being struck by lightning first (statistically).

This is why it’s so easy to sell people the exact same thing over and over, with just different words and a different approach. You can have many different sales pages, the exact same product released at different dates and the majority of people would never notice. Again, staying on topic with the make money online niche, the majority of these people have hard drives with Gigs of products they bought over the years.

They continuously buy products because they don’t want to work for their business or success; they just want success to come to them.

This is why it’s important to provide an auto responder service and capture e-mails either on your squeeze page or your sales page.

What Do I Follow Up With?

This will highly depend on the niche you’re marketing to but I’m going to stay on topic for making money online as an example, let’s pretend you’re selling a product that teaches people to make money.

You’re going to send people newsletters, tips, and news in the industry with occasional success stories about how your product changed lives because some people might be on the fence about buying your product but they’re on the fence. You’re going to tell people about new product launches, the latest testimonials for your product or service and etc. We could go into how to increase e-mail click conversions but that’s another story for another day. We’re keeping it basic here.

What To Do After Your First Launch Campaign

There are two different answers to this question because a lot of people have actually asked me this. The excitement is over and now it’s either sink or swim. After a couple of weeks have passed, the hype has died down from your product and most of your customers and e-mail list subscribers have made their purchase (if you’ve done everything right), what do you do now? Well, this will depend whether it was a successful launch or a bad one.

    Successful

If your launch was successful and you made a lot of money, then CONTINUE DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING! Make sure you’re following up with e-mails, newsletters and sending people testimonials about your product. Remember, not everyone who opted into your e-mail subscriber list bought your product, some of them are still on the fence, they may not have the money or they want to see more information or even reviews before they purchase your product.

Look up on Google for “Your Product Name Reviews” or “Your Product Name Scam”. Look for any forums, blogs or social media communities that are discussing your product and join them. Not only does this show that you’re personally involved with the community but you’re willing to take time out of your day to answer any questions people may have. Try to answer everyone’s questions while using your signature to direct them to your website.

They’ll know you’re legit and that it’s you because you won’t be linking to an affiliate link, you’ll be linking directly to your website.

Bad

Don’t be discouraged by a bad product launch. A lot of people who launch products don’t achieve nearly the success they thought they would receive and people become discouraged by this and give up.

Re-trace your steps to find out where you went wrong, perhaps you didn’t get the attention of any affiliates, your sales copy had a lot of spelling mistakes or your website was poorly designed. There might not have even been a market or any kind of effort put into your product/website design at all. There are just so many reasons and so many things that could’ve contributed to your website not doing that well. So go back in time and re-trace your steps to see what went wrong and dust yourself off.

You can either continue on with that project and try to “Re-launch” it since it already exists or create one from scratch. Sure, that sounds like a lot of work but like I said earlier, you can’t really truly fail until you simply give up.

So what is it going to be? Are you going to be someone who has a bad experience one time and then gives up or are you going to pick yourself up, get out there and create a brand new product until you are successful!
